The Exchange club of Brunswick honor Carl Alexander

The Exchange club of Brunswick held a special meeting to honor Carl Alexander. Carl recently passed away. Carl was a member of the Exchange club of Brunswick for over 22 years. Carl was the chairman of the police officer of the year program. Carl was a recipient of the officer of the year award in 1975 shortly after starting his career with the Glynn County police department and in 1987 was named chief of the Glynn county police department. When he retired from the Glynn county police department he was named the director of security for the Sea Island company until his retirement. Carl was on the hospital board and was the chairman of the hospital board. Carl was appointed to the Glynn county police advisory board and was hired as a consultant to the Glynn county police department, prior to his passing.


Carl's plaque will be joining some great men on the wall of honor, Clarke Wiggins, Emory Dawson, Jimmy Hancock, Powell McDonald, Floyd Faust, that passed on and some that are still working Gary Johnson, PJ Frenchi Blanchard and Mac Burgess.


The Exchange club of Brunswick is celebrating 75 years of giving back to our community.

Gary Johnson, Past President told the club about some of the men on the wall of honor, and Retired Brunswick police chief T.C Cowan told the club about Carl growing up in Brunswick and graduating from Glynn Academy in 1966 together.
