Glynn county EMA director speaks to the Exchange club of Brunswick

During the weekly luncheon hosted by the Exchange Club of Brunswick, members had the pleasure of welcoming Andrew Leanza as their guest speaker. Andrew’s participation brought a fresh and meaningful viewpoint to the meeting, sparking engaging and thought-provoking conversations among those present. Andrew, serving as the director of emergency management and homeland security for Glynn County, brought valuable insights to the discussion, inspiring attendees to thoroughly explore each topic. Andrew shared with the club how Glynn County played a crucial role in supporting Brantley County during the devastating wildfire that destroyed more than 150 homes. Their account underscored the unwavering dedication and teamwork displayed by the county during challenging moments. Andrew explained to the club that Glynn County promptly opened a shelter to assist those forced from their homes by the wildfire, and mobilized both police and fire resources to support neighboring communities in need. Additionally, Andrew expressed gratitude to the club for playing a vital role in storing the numerous truckloads of donated supplies, which were directed toward helping individuals affected by the disaster. This collective response showcased the community’s resilience and commitment to supporting one another in times of adversity.
